Well, the story goes that about a week or two before the portrait session, Megan calls me to let me know she has some exciting news about the shoot. I was thrilled with how things were going so I had no idea what more she could have in mind. After playing phone tag for awhile, we finally were able to connect and Megan told me, with total excitement in her voice, that Charlotte was going to wear the same dress that she wore in a picture when she was 2 years old. Obviously, Charlotte is only turning one, but because the dress ties in the back, Charlotte was able to fit in it just fine. I was so excited because I knew that our pictures would be even more special to them now that they incorporated something so sentimental into the session. This was like icing on the cake! And I’m pretty sure by now, you all know how much I like my icing.
After the outdoor part of the session was over, we came back to our place to recreate a picture of Megan wearing the dress when she was 2. It was short, it was simple, but it was oh so special! As you can see, little Charlotte has a lot of hair to grow within the next year to match her Momma at the age of 2. But we’re rooting her on! (no pun intended) I couldn’t decide on my favorite between the two. The first is the best replica, but the second is just so Charlotte. I thought it’d be fun to have a little voting match here on the blog.

Aww. They’re both perfect. But I vote number two– Charlotte has an UHHHMAZINGGG smile, and you can see the dress a lot more to see that it’s the same one mommy wore!

Wow it’s hard — I love them both. But, I think #1 shows such a resemblance between these beautiful girls and I really like how close it mirrors the pose and expression.
