We walked up to Shannon and Dan to say hello and chat for a bit before we began photographing. Dan had little Adrienne in his arms and she looked at us very suspiciously. I wondered if it was something about us in particular or was it the “big black thing” that Vitaliy was holding. I often imagine what kids are thinking when they see the big black camera pointed at them. Some kids look at it as if it were a weapon ready to destroy them. Others seem to think it’s just another toy and want to play with it.
Moments later, Shannon said to Adrienne, “Adrienne, remember what today is? Today is picture day! Do you remember what that means?” Adrienne responded instinctively with a huge smile on her face from ear to ear, “Cheese!!” We all began to laugh hysterically clapping and cheering her on. This only made her more aware that the two strangers were still there with the “big black thing” pointed at her. That was the end of the smiles for awhile until she had time to warm up to us and the “big black thing”. But it was only a matter of time and she was full of smiles, singing, and jubilee.
Shannon and Dan — we had such a fun time photographing you and Adrienne. You are such a beautiful family that you make our job very easy. Adrienne was absolutely adorable! We are looking forward to the next addition to your loving family. Hope your pictures bless your home and family as much as you have been a blessing to us.
