Pleasanton Wedding: JP & Amanda

We huddled around our table eating pizza while JP and Amanda looked through their engagement pictures. I knew they were coming to meet with us straight from work and likely wouldn’t have time to stop for dinner. I called Amanda up and asked her if they’d like to join us for dinner. “We’re thinking pizza,” I said and she agreed immediately. About twenty minutes into the meeting my tummy was not only full from the yummy pizza, it was in pain from all of the laughter. As I sat and watched the interactions between them, I thought to myself how excited and thankful I was to photograph their wedding. If sitting around eating pizza was this fun, I couldn’t imagine how much fun their wedding would be. And I was right; my imagination didn’t do it justice. This couple is one of a kind! And after hearing their friends’ speeches during the ceremony and the reception, I could see that I’m not the only one who thinks so. I only wish I could have known them sooner in life.

Amanda and JP, now that you’re wedding is behind us, I’m going to have to find new reasons to invite you over for pizza. Being around you both just makes life happier. Amanda, your beautiful artistry shined through every detail of your wedding. And I know I’ve told you this many times already, but I’ll tell you once more. You are gorgeous and you looked stunning in your wedding dress. JP is one lucky man! Speaking of JP, let me just say that Amanda is blessed to be able to call you her husband. One of the most important qualities I think a husband should possess is the ability to keep his wife laughing and you seem to do that with ease. I have no doubt that you’ll continue doing so throughout the years to come. Thank you both for giving us not only the honor, but the sincere pleasure of photographing your special day. We are happy to not only call you our clients, but after that one special night of pizza and cookies, we are officially calling you our friends. We love you guys!

Amanda is a very talented graphic design artist and designed her own wedding invitations. I just love her attention to detail.

Amanda is a total fashionista so one wedding dress was just not enough. She had this adorable dress on the right for her reception. Now I want to redo my wedding and have a reception dress as part of the day. If I only knew then what I know now.

And if you’re going to have two dresses, then you must have more than one pair of shoes. I love the way she thinks.

Have I mentioned before how much I love when clients choose to have a First Look? Not only is it one of the most romantic parts of the day, it also allows for plenty of picture time. Here is the start of Amanda and JP’s First Look from Vitaliy’s point of view.

And this was from my point of view.

And the laughter begins.

I could not get enough of this bow. I’m a total sucker when it comes to bows.

One word. STUNNING.

I also have to mention and thank Mimi Tran for making Amanda look “oh so pretty!”.

A big thank you goes out to Fremont Flowers who did an unbelievable job on Amanda’s flowers. The colors were so vibrant and the flowers were so fresh.

Oh, these make my heart go “pitter, patter”.

Definitely a favorite.

This was too happy not to share. There is something about a bride being surrounded by her best friends laughing. It could just be the girl in me, but I love it.

After all those fun pictures, it’s time for a wedding! Vitaliy captured this one and I think it is something special.

Getting married under the moon. How romantic!

I hope she looks at him like this forever.

I loved this cake display! Sweet Passions Bakery did a great job.

The first dance.

A few more pictures before the evening was over. And some of my favorites.

I just love all the different locations at the Palm Event Center.

And we’ll end with this. Sparklers are a perfect way to end such a celebratory day!

  4. Joanna Tao

I love the one where Amanda is standing in front of the wine barrels looking like lil’ miss hot stuff model. Hehe. And I also love how Amanda’s gray-blue sash appears to match JP’s suit perfectly!

  5. Johanna Enriquez

Beautiful, beautiful work! Everything was pieced together perfectly. Watching it immediately took me back to the day and reminded me of how much fun I and everyone else had. Amazing work Prokopets! :)

So many amazing shots! What a Gorgeous Wedding!! You guys did such a great job capturing the day. And Candace you may be giving Vitaliy a run for his money, I think it might be time to teach a class or something!

  8. Raquel V.

Loved the one with Amanda and the bridesmaids. Everyone looks so happy!

  9. Um hello, when did you have time to post these ha ha.… great GREAT images!! Classic, great attention to details and you already have some “high fashion” posing going on! Like the one of the bride against the wine barrels. Awesome black and white-ish post production in their close up shots. Impressed.

  10. The wedding is absolutely beautiful as well as the pictures of s couple. Wonderful work, Candace and Vitaliy!

  11. Mom

Great job kids! My fav is the Palm tree!! Keep it coming. I love your style.

  12. Kristin!

I agree with the rest of the gang that the pictures of the couple were beautiful and the whole day was documented perfectly! As usual the bride looked AMAZING (I agree! great job Mimi & Prokopets) and that JP guy didn’t look too bad either! lol

The bride’s great taste in colors really brought everything together too. Ivory, plum, different shades of gray and varied shades of green/blues. Everything really popped!

The black & white photos gave a timeless look to the newlyweds. =o) Always a very classy!

It was a fun to see all the friends and family in the background of the group pictures as well! Very hilarious candid shots of a few people (Rey looks really excited with that sparkler!) and I loooove the shot of the bride with the girls. =o) How excited and happy we all were for Amanda and JP really showed in this shot. =o) Though I guess I overdid it a little with the “fake” laughing but I could have sworn everyone else was doing the same thing.….=oI haha

Amanda does look like a model, especially the shot of her with her hand on her hip looking up with her reflection on the table! hehe Again the humor of the couple comes out in the one where JP is holding his cigar while Amanda has that “you better put it away” look on her face! haha Awww the perfect couple. =o)

  13. Raman Nazari

  25. Leilani

The pictures are beautiful! I actually teared up because Amanda and JP look so happy and in love. (I’m sentimental like that. :-p)

And then I laughed at the one where JP is holding the cigar because Amanda looks a little angry to me.

  26. Jen Marshall

See the attention to details is so fun! The purple shoes! The wine caskets back drop in the reception area. The cake display. And what makes those ripples in the sky under the moon? Amazing that God is so attentive to detailes too!

  27. Absolutely beautiful! :) You two make one dynamic team! I love all the yummy details and how crisp and rich your images are. Perfection!

woweeee!!! these are FANtasmical! and yes, that’s a made up word. but you really need one to describe these images AND this couple. i’m in looove with the palm trees image, it’s so romantic and magical!

you did a wonderful job at capturing all the details (i know there were lots of them!) from the invite to the SHOES to the scenery, to capturing that exact expression on jp and amanda’s faces. can’t wait to see more!

These amazing photos marked the beginning of a happy perfect couple. They nicely documented the detail oriented and artistic taste of the bride. They also well presented the love between this gorgeous couple. Congratulations to Amanda and JB!
