Relationship Between A Mother & A Daughter

When Laura con­tacted me, I was so excited because she wanted pic­tures taken and she wanted them taken for no rea­son, just because. There was no spe­cial occa­sion. No anniver­sary. No spe­cial engage­ment. She loves her hus­band and wanted to give him pic­tures of the two most impor­tant peo­ple in his life — his wife and his daugh­ter. How roman­tic and lov­ing is that!?! This is exactly why we call this cat­e­gory of our pho­tog­ra­phy “just because” because you don’t have to have a spe­cial rea­son to have pro­fes­sional pic­tures taken. Life and love is rea­son enough.

I was extra delighted about this ses­sion because it’s a mother/daughter por­trait ses­sion. I’m very close with my mother so I was excited to have the oppor­tu­nity to doc­u­ment the unique love and rela­tion­ship between a mother and a daugh­ter. Laura and Jessica’s inter­ac­tion was no dis­ap­point­ment. Their gen­uine love and respect for each other was evi­dent to the eye and the lens. They loved to laugh together. And I truly admired Jessica’s will­ing­ness to express her love towards her mother in front of oth­ers. It seems that teenagers these days are ashamed to do this and it’s so sad to me. Their vul­ner­a­bil­ity as women in front of a cam­era was absolutely breath­tak­ing. These are two gen­er­a­tions of two beau­ti­ful women.

Laura and Jes­sica, it was an absolute plea­sure to meet you and to pho­to­graph you. We thor­oughly enjoyed every minute watch­ing you two together. Thank you for the honor!
