Rhymes For A Reason

Today was not my typical morning. Usually we all wake up at the same time and I chauffeur my two favorite ladies — my sister Lesya and my lovely wife Candace — to their appointed destinations. But this morning was different. I could barely open my eyes. The bed felt so comfortable and I just did not want to get up. I finally dragged myself out of bed and put on my clothes. My sister felt like she was getting sick so she decided to stay home and rest. Candace and I got in the car and I drove her to work.

The day before, we did not get much time to chat about her weekend in Seattle so we tried to catch up a little bit in the car. But what is five minutes with a person that you are so deeply in love with? I didn’t feel satisfied. I dropped Candace off and headed back home. As I was driving in the car I felt an overwhelming  feeling of love for Candace that gave me goosebumps. I could not contain myself. I didn’t know what to do. The love for my wife, lover, and friend felt so great! I couldn’t remember the last time I felt such a deep emotion. I walked inside our home and sat down in front of my computer. Usually I start either editing photos or doing some other work for Prokopets Studio.  But today there was no way I could focus on work. Instead I started typing out lines after lines. They rhymed and felt so easy to write.  This was something completely out of the ordinary. The first line was, “Good morning beautiful girl, the only one in the world.“  Now please understand, I don’t EVER write poetry! But today I did.

I am one lucky guy. I am married to the most precious and loving woman. She draws me closer to Jesus and I am a better man today because of her. Love has the amazing power to change people. It also causes you to do crazy things such as writing poetry.

I love you, Candace!
