San Francisco E-Session: Tim & Christine

Vitaliy and I have songs, songs that we claim to be ours. They weren’t written by us or performed by us, but they connected us at different parts of our lives so they feel like such a part of who we are as a couple. One of those songs is Collide by Howie Day. It was our song back in college and every time I heard it my heart fell more in love with Vitaliy. It perfectly represented us because we collided into each others lives even though we were from opposite ends of the Earth. As I sat down to write this post, this song came flooding my mind.

Here are a few of the lyrics.

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you
Yeah

I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

As I watched Tim and Christine flying their kites together, I couldn’t help but feel the romance. I had trouble putting my finger on why it was so romantic until today. When these lyrics played over in my mind, I finally knew why. The wind blows the two kites and every now and then, you’ll find that they collide. Tim and Christine have found themselves tangled up in their love. I’m sure at times they will fall, but soon enough a strong gust of wind will soar in lifting them up to the beautiful blue skies, whipping and weaving them through life together.

Tim and Christine, thank you for letting us document your love. I’m so happy you guys chose something that you love to incorporate into your engagement session. Vitaliy and I are totally stealing this idea for our next date night. I hope that you guys stay tangled up in each others love until death do you part. We can’t wait to photograph your upcoming wedding in June!

.

We started off Tim and Christine’s engagement session near their apartment in San Francisco.

One of my favorite pictures from the session. Just makes you feel happy to look at it.

But then again, there’s this one. And well, this is why I can’t pick favorites from our shoots.

We like to walk around a location because you never know what kind of sweet spots you’ll find hidden away.

I’m so in love with Christine’s cheeks. When she smiles, they form these perfect round circles. I just went and checked — I’ve got no such circles.

Beautiful.

I’m so happy to live in California. Flying kites in Missouri did not look like this. Sorry dad.

what FUN pictures!!! I love the metaphor of the two kites taking flight, just like the two hearts, two lives, etc. The colors in the marina shots are so brilliant. And great job of capturing the setting sunlight on the faces of this lovely couple.

All I can think to say is like Amanda said, “Perfect!” Creative, dreamy, just perfect. A smile on my face throught the whole blog post!

I love Christine’s cheeks too! They are like circles-round and cushy. The one of you two by the garage in the Marina is an awesome shot. I am going to miss having you two around so much.

  14. Samia

I loved these pictures. I see so much love in both your eyes. Every picture shows so much beautiful scenery and so much love.

  15. SD

I think you should show these pictures at your wedding in an album. They are perfect picures.

  16. Sam

Wow! These pictures are great. You both are lovely.

The beauty and love in your pictures brought tears to my eyes. It was like watching a Rembrandt or Monet. They say that old married couples who are in love resemble each other. It is amazing but Tim and Christine have already started to look like each other. Tim, you too have cheeks that become perfect round circles when you smile. The good Lord has already started the process of your unification. God bless you.

  18. Whoa. The kites are fantastic. You keep getting better and better.

  19. Shannon Maass

These are beautiful! I love how you captured these two just “being” and having fun together. All the pictures show just how adorable these two are!
