Back in January of this year, I wrote this post. It was a pretty emotional post for me because at that time I was very dissatisfied with life. The dissatisfaction came as a result of having my priorities in the wrong order for most of 2009. On the way home from Sacramento that weekend, Vitaliy and I had a very difficult conversation. That could be my next Life After “I Do†post because it’s essential in marriage to have difficult conversations. It’s the only way to grow as people and as a couple. We saw two important things in our life that needed more of our attention – Jesus and relationships. In reality, starting a business requires a lot of work and a lot of dedication, but you have to keep a healthy balance of work and rest if you want to enjoy the process of it all. And for me, enjoying life is the only option.
So here we are deep in the midst of wedding season taking a vacation. As you’re reading this post right now, Vitaliy and I are in the dirty, dirty South – Dallas, TX. I’m going to be practicing my southern drawl and I’ll hopefully get a piece of Southern pie. If anyone knows of something I must see, or more importantly must eat, while in Texas, please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments. I always welcome recommendations. I’m sure you are wondering why on earth we would take our vacation to Dallas, TX. I wondered the same thing too and questioned myself quite a few times! But Dallas is the home to our best friends Peter and Kris and they were a big priority for our 2010.
From Dallas, we’ll be heading up to the big M-O, that’s Missouri for all of you unaware of the spectacular Show-Me-State. We’re heading specifically to Columbia for a very dear friend’s wedding. I’ve actually been given the honor of being a bridesmaid in the wedding and Vitaliy will be photographing the big day. C.R.A.Z.Y. I’m going to be in front of Vitaliy’s camera and I’m feeling quite nervous about the whole thing. I don’t know why. Our computer is full of random shots of me standing around making faces while Vitaliy tests the light during our photoshoots. Maybe I’m nervous because of all the fried chicken and apple pie I know I’ll consume while in Texas before the wedding. I might have to rethink my food itinerary for our trip.
We’ll be ending the trip in St. Louis where I will get to spend Father’s Day with my dad. I am truly excited to see my family and it’s the perfect way to end our vacation. This trip is filled with everything we have been working to prioritize this year. I couldn’t be happier!
It’s now June and we are officially half way through the year. Have you revisited your goals for 2010? Now might be the time!

That’s my kids, make a plan and stick to it. What an exciting trip. I know you are enjoying your time with Peter and Kris. I have no food suggestion, although every time I think of Texas I think of beef. How about a nice big, fat, juicy steak!
