The End but The Beginning

It feels as though I woke up one morn­ing and sum­mer was over. I do not know where it went! Sum­mer, seri­ously where did you go? It is almost Sep­tem­ber 1, school has started, and life is back into a rou­tine. I per­son­ally love this time of year. I was always the weird kid in school who looked for­ward to the first day of school. Now I’m the weird adult that looks for­ward to sum­mer end­ing because I enjoy a good rou­tine and set sched­ule. It fits per­fectly on the shelf next to my love for to-do-lists and keep­ing an updated cal­en­dar. Praise God I mar­ried a relaxed, go with the flow Euro­pean or I would be in big trouble.

But we couldn’t say good­bye to sum­mer and send Leska off to school on Mon­day with­out a bang! So we spent an amaz­ing week­end in Tahoe with dear friends who spoiled us tremen­dously. We went on boat rides, tub­ing, and let our hair blow in the wind as we sped across the lake on their jet skis. It was absolutely incred­i­ble and the best way to bring our sum­mer break to a glo­ri­ous end. With lake water hair and sun kissed skin, we sat on the deck and gazed upon the fol­low­ing site. Any wor­ries or fears that may have tried to sneak into our minds were put in their right­ful place as we expe­ri­enced the beauty and majesty of our Lord’s cre­ation. Our per­spec­tive was once again cor­rected and our hearts at peace. It was at this point that we knew we were ready to face what­ever lies ahead in the upcom­ing new sea­son of life.
