The Invasion of Sin City

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be going to Las Vegas. Strip clubs and casi­nos have never been my choice of enter­tain­ment. “What hap­pens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” What kind of motto is that? My self-righteous mind couldn’t wrap around the intrigue with such a place. That is…until I found out about WPPI. Give me a build­ing full of pho­tog­ra­phers and the oppor­tu­nity to grow my busi­ness and I will just have to over­look those other areas. Let’s just say that I am ready for a new expe­ri­ence, ready to get away, visit a new city, make new friends, learn a ton, and have a retreat with my hus­band. I am more than ready.

I’m really excited to take some amaz­ing classes and learn from some sea­soned pho­tog­ra­phers. We are going to be learn­ing from Judy Hai­ley and Kam­ran Zohoori which is funny because Kam­ran was our wed­ding pho­tog­ra­pher. How­ever, at the time we hadn’t yet begun our pho­tog­ra­phy adven­ture. Some other classes are by Roberto Valen­zuela and Andy & Angie Wood. Of course, my favorite aspect of Prokopets Stu­dio is the busi­ness side of things so I am most look­ing for­ward to the Busi­ness Insti­tute of WPPI. I’m eager to learn from some of the industry’s best and their thoughts on run­ning a pho­tog­ra­phy busi­ness suc­cess­fully. A few fea­tured are Yer­vant and his wife Anie, Michele Celen­tano, and Doug Box. That is just to name a few of our activ­i­ties. Need­less to say, I’m totally pumped!

I’ve heard so many fun things to do in Vegas. One of my friends sug­gested going to see the Bea­t­les show. Another rec­om­mended the Rat Pack. Walk­ing the Strip. All the yummy food. Just the thought of being on a mini-vacation is enough for me. If any­body has any sug­ges­tions for fun activ­i­ties in Vegas, send me a sug­ges­tion in the com­ments below. The con­ven­tion is not until Feb­ru­ary 13, but we will post some pho­tos of “what hap­pened in Vegas” with us when we return.
