Wicked Chicago Style Pizza

Chicago is where it all began. It will always hold a very spe­cial place in my heart because it’s the city I met and fell in love with Vitaliy. It’s a frigid cold place in real­ity, but when I think of it, the mem­o­ries warm my heart. If you know any­thing about Chicago, you’ll remem­ber that it is known for its deep dish piz­zas. Since I would be plan­ning our anniver­sary this year, I dreamed of going to Chicago for a week­end. That was def­i­nitely out of the ques­tion, so instead I decided to bring Chicago to us. Tech­ni­cally, Lou Malnati’s isn’t our favorite pizza place in Chicago, but they do have one of our favorite desserts, the deep dish cookie. You all know dessert is a high pri­or­ity for me so Lou Malnati’s won this time.

So we sat. We ate. And we fell more in love. We cre­ated a new mem­ory together that we’ll get to look back on years from now and smile about. And that is one of the great­est things about mar­riage — cre­at­ing mem­o­ries that you can be proud of and that make you happy when you think of them.

And just in case pizza and a cookie weren’t enough for my man, I tacked on a night out in SF to see Wicked. I was sure that would seal the deal for a per­fect anniver­sary cel­e­bra­tion. And I was right! Isn’t that the first les­son of a good mar­riage? You know, that the wife is always right. It didn’t even take Vitaliy four years to learn that one.
